ST MARTIN DE BELLEVILLE AIRPORT TRANSFERS

We run St Martin de Belleville airport transfers on week-ends throughout the 2024 / 25 ski season. Our shared transfers operate from 30th November 2024 until the 26th April 2025, although this depends on which airport you use. We operate many shuttle buses each day and we generally transport passengers in large coaches, which means cheaper fares and less environmental impact. TRANSFER TIMES TO ST MARTIN DE BELLEVILLE

Chambery Airport is the closest airport to St Martin with the shortest transfer time, but it has a limited selection of flights. For a greater choice, consider flying into Geneva Airport (GVA), Lyon Airport (LYS) or Grenoble Airport (GNB). St Martin is at the start of the Belleville valley road, the D117, which ends in Val Thorens. The journey time obviously depends on the traffic and weather and the below times are for when the conditions are good. We allow extra time when we think traffic will be heavy.

Moutiers Coach Station to St Martin is 20 km and the transfer time is about 30 minutes. If you are arriving by eurostar and looking for transfers from Moutiers train station, we’d recommend the local St Martin public buses or a private taxi.

BUS STOP

All our services from all our airports will drop you and pick you up from the bus stop in the centre of town, close to the church. From here you can use the free resort shuttle “navettes” to get to your accommodation. ST MARTIN DE BELEVILLE SKI RESORT

St Martin de Belleville is a charming, traditional resort in the lower reaches of Les 3 Vallees. It has retained a lot of its authentic savoyarde character, with its alpine chalets, converted stables and baroque church. Although it’s quite low at 1450m, it’s connected to the higher pistes by a fast 8 seater gondola. It’s a perfect resort for families looking for a quiet, mountain ski holiday. As part of the 3 Valleys ski area, you can access over 600km of marked runs, serviced by 200 ski lifts. As well as 49 black runs, 175 reds, 207 blues and 66 greens, if you are in possession of a 3 valley ski pass, you can ski the 2 glaciers, meaning your ski holiday is snow-sure.

The transfer time from Grenoble Airport to Alpe d’Huez is about 2 hours, depending on the date, time of day, weather and traffic conditions. We allow more time when we know traffic may be bad. The distance from Grenoble Airport to Alpe d’Huez is 105 km. We have up to 8 buses a day so you’ll never have to wait long. Our vehicles usually take the A48 motorway to Grenoble, then the N85 to Vizille, then the D1091 to Bourg d’Oisans, before climbing the famous 21 hairpins of the D211F to Alpe d’Huez. Our local drivers may take alternative routes when the traffic is bad.

Villard Reculas Airport Transfers

Although we do not offer direct airport transfers to Villard Reculas, we can take you most of the way from both Grenoble and Lyon Airports. Villard Reculas is connected by a piste to the Alpe d’Huez ski area. It is, however, accessed by a completely separate road which comes up from Rochetaillee, a small village close to Bourg d’Oisans. There is also a narrow road which connects Villard Reculas to Alpe d’Huez but it is closed when there is snow, so it’s always best to use our Rochetaillee stop. From Rochetaillee you will need to make your own travel arrangements for the short journey to Villard Reculas.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS TO VILLARD RECULAS

Ben’s Buses service all scheduled flights from Grenoble Airport throughout the 2024 / 25 winter ski season. Our Grenoble Airport to Bourg d’Oisans page has more information on this. From Lyon Airport, we have transfers on most Saturdays. Visit our Lyon Airport to Bourg d’Oisans page for details on dates, times and prices. Our Saturday prices from Grenoble Airport to Rochetaillee are £58pp Return or £33.50pp Single, but with our group and child discounts, you could pay as little as £51pp Return. We will drop you off at and pick you up from the main bus stop in Rochetaillee, next to the Hotel Belledonne.

VILLARD RECULAS SKI RESORT

Villard Reculas is a quiet, authentic village which has a real mountain feel to it. It has not been developed at all and retains a lot of its mountain village charm. Facing south, it offers breathtaking views and enjoys a lot of sun. It’s connected to the Alpe d’Huez ski area so you’ve got 250kms of pisted runs at your disposal. It’s definitely a family resort, or a mountain lovers resort, as there’s not much to do there except enjoy the ambiance. The distance to Grenoble airport is 100km and the transfer time to Rochetaillee, in good driving conditions, is usually only 1 hour 15 minutes. Advice for Bad Traffic Days

HOW TO TRAVEL SMART ON BAD-TRAFFIC DAYS IN THE ALPS

At certain hours of the day, on certain days of the year, the roads are so saturated with traffic they become gridlocked. This has got worse over the past few years and we are now seeing some of our transfers to Tignes take up to 7-8 hours!

The worst area is between Bourg St Maurice and Moutiers. Everyone coming down from Val d’Isere, Tignes, La Rosiere, Les Arcs and La Plagne uses this road, which is only 1 lane in places.

The worst time of day is usually between between 7am – 1pm (heading out of the resort). On the school holidays dates, the traffic is truly horrific.

We therefore don’t run any buses at certain times of the day during the school holidays. Not only does it make for an unpleasant ride for our customers, but our drivers need to take legal breaks for safety reasons. We will not knowingly put our drivers and customers at risk.

It is much better to take an earlier bus to the airport and spend time there, where there are toilet facilities, space to stretch your legs and plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Read our tips below on what your options are.

CONSIDER TAKING THE TRAIN FROM BOURG ST MAURICE TO MOUTIERS

If you’re travelling from Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs or La Plagne to any airport, we may have later services from Moutiers. You could book a Single with us to your resort and then make another Single booking from Moutiers to your airport. You can then take a local bus or taxi to Bourg St Maurice (or the funicular from Les Arcs), from where you can take a train to Moutiers. This would obviously dodge all the traffic. We’d advise booking in advance.

If you plan on leaving the airport, make sure you’re back there 2 hours before your flight as the queues for Check In and Security can be quite long!

KILL TIME WITH A SHORT TRIP INTO GENEVA

If you arrive at Geneva Airport well in advance for your flight, you could consider taking a train into Geneva and having a coffee or some lunch overlooking the lake. This is a much more civilised way to spend your day!

KILLING TIME AT LYON AIRPORT

There’s a luggage store at Lyon Airport run by SafeBag. Lyon is the culinary capital of France, so it’s worthwhile heading into town if you have plenty of time to spare. Otherwise the airport has fairly decent facilities.

– The Rhones Express train service takes about 30 mins to arrive at Lyon Part-Dieu, which is the centre of town and the Central Business District.

– Another, better option could be to take a taxi to main square in the nearby town of Genas, which is only about a 10 minute drive away.

KILLING TIME AT GRENOBLE AIRPORT

There’s no luggage store at Grenoble Airport and it’s in the middle of nowhere, so there’s not much to do. There is a little village close by called St-Geoirs which has some restaurants and a lively square which sometimes has week-end markets.

– The airport has a very good restaurant in the Departures Lounge. You need to walk up the stairs at the far end and you will enter a bar. Behind that is the restaurant and terrace overlooking the runway.

– There is a restaurant called La Grillon on the edge of the airport grounds. It a safe, short walk on flat ground. We recommend checking the opening times and booking in advance.

BE PREPARED – BRING PLENTY OF FOOD AND WATER

Make sure you have enough food and water for the journey. This is especially true if you are diabetic.

Keep any medicines in your hand luggage and avoid drinking coffee before your journey.

Make use of the toilets before you get into your vehicle. Ask the driver if you need to go en route.

Bring a book, some games for the kids and lots of downloaded videos to view on your device.

Lyon Airport to Val d’Isere

LYON AIRPORT TO VAL D’ISERE TRANSFERS

Lyon Airport to Val d’Isere transfers run from December – April during the 2024 / 2025 winter ski season. This is our 19th year running low cost shared transfers to Val d’Isere. The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Val d’Isere is between 3 hours 35 minutes and 5 hours. The transfer time depends massively on the date, time of day, the weather and traffic. Our vehicles usually take the A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville, via Chambery, then the N90 national road to Bourg St Maurice before climbing the D902 up to Val d’Isere.

BUS STOPS

Our service stops at the main bus station, the ‘Gare Routiere’ which is in the centre of town and is the most commonly used drop off and pick up point. We also have a stop in the area known as La Daille. La Daille is a purpose built part of Val d’Isere, about 5 minutes away from the main resort. Do i need to confirm my transfer?

No, you do not need to confirm your transfer with us so you do not need to contact us. We will assume you are travelling unless you tell us you wish to cancel.

We will email and / or send an SMS to the Lead Passenger should we need to change our bus times due to weather or traffic issues etc, so please ensure you check those. If you are unsure, you can download the latest version of your eticket.

We strongly recommended you have your eticket available to view on your phone / tablet. This is because they contain hyperlinks to important webpages, including to our page with our emergency phone numbers.

Our vehicles usually take the A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville, then the N90 national road to Moutiers before climbing the D117 up to Les Menuires. We have up to 5 buses each Saturday. BUS STOP

Our buses drop off and pick up from the main bus station in Les Menuires, the Gare Routiere. Expand the section BUS STOP LOCATION below to see a map of our stop in resort. Les Menuires is a big resort so if you are catching an early morning bus with us, you should be aware that we can only pick up at our designated stop. Although we don’t generally have a rep at Les Menuires, our drivers are trained to call our reps in Val Thorens. They will then try to call you if you are not there on time.
