The transfer time from Grenoble Airport to Tignes Le Lac is about 3 hours 50 minutes, depending the date, time of day, the weather and traffic conditions. We allow more time for the journey when we know traffic may be bad. The distance to Tignes Val Claret, the furthest resort, is 209 km. The route our vehicles usually take is the A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville via Grenoble, then the N90 national road to Bourg St Maurice then the D902 to Tignes. GRENOBLE AIRPORT TO VAL D’ISERE TRANSFER TIME

 

The transfer time from Grenoble Airport to Val d’Isere is about 3 hours 45 minutes, depending on the date, time of day, weather and traffic conditions. We allow more time for the journey when we know traffic may be bad. The distance from Grenoble Airport to Val d’Isere is 210 km. The route our vehicles usually take is the A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville via Grenoble, the N90 national road to Bourg St Maurice then the D902 to Val d’Isere. BUS STOPS

 

The Val d’Isere bus stops we use are the main bus station, the “Gare Routiere”. Most people use this stop as it’s in the centre of town. We also have another stop in La Daille. La Daille is the purpose built part of Val d’Isere, about 5 minutes away from the main resort. Ask you accommodation providers if you are unsure which stop is best for you. SPRING AND EASTER SKI TRANSFERS 2025

 

On the 30th March 2025, most airlines change their schedules from their winter timetable to their spring / summer timetables. This coincides with the start of British Summer Time, when the clocks spring forward by one hour.

Although some airlines have already announced their Spring schedule, some have not and history tells us that those that have are likely to change some flight times before the beginning of December. For that reason, we can’t announce our bus times from Grenoble Airport from the 30th March onwards until late-November. We do apologise if you have booked your flight and are keen to book our transfers now.

 

If you are travelling to Alpe d’Huez or Les Deux Alpes, we will meet every scheduled flight into and out of Grenoble airport on any day of the week, up to the 19th April. The maximum time between a flight landing and our bus leaving is 2.5 hours.

If you are travelling to Val Thorens, Tignes or Val d’Isere, our last bus will be on the 5th April (both from the resorts and to the resorts) but we will likely have a very limited service. You may wish to consider flying into Geneva Airport instead, as we have a much more comprehensive service late into the season.

Tignes Airport Transfers

Ben’s Bus operates regular week-end transfers to Tignes from Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon Airports. Geneva Airport is probably the most convenient airport as it’s the closest and has so many flights, but Grenoble and Lyon are both good alternatives. With prices from just over £44pp, shared transfers are the cheapest and most environmentally friendly way of getting to Tignes. We generally use larger coaches, which offer a more comfortable journey as they have more space than private taxis or hire cars.

 

 

Tignes is a hugely popular French ski resort, linked with Val d’Isere. Their combined ski area boasts an impressive 300km of piste and enjoys an enviable snow record. The resort is split into 4 villages. All our transfers make stops at Tignes Les Brevieres, Tignes 1800, Tignes Le Lac (for Le Lavachet) and Tignes Val Claret. GRENOBLE TO TIGNES TRANSFERS

 

Grenoble Airport is slightly further away than Geneva. However, more of the journey is on the motorway and there is no international border to cross, so it’s a viable alternative. Grenoble to Tignes transfers are available on Saturdays and Sundays from the 14th December 2024 – 5th April 2025. The price of a transfer from Grenoble Airport is £97.50pp Return, £53 Single. We have discounts for groups and children, meaning you could pay just £45pp Single.

 

 

 

LYON TO TIGNES TRANSFERS

 

Lyon Airport is the furthest airport from Tignes but most of the journey is on motorways, so although that means more tolls, it also means you can travel faster. However, during school holidays, the Parisians use this route to return home so it’s not the best airport to use during busy times. Our transfers from Lyon to Tignes run on Saturdays from the 14th December 2024 – 5th April 2025. The price of a transfer from Lyon Airport with Ben’s Bus is £97.50pp Return, £53pp Single.

 

 

 

 

 

TIGNES TRANSFER TIMES

 

Chambery is the closest airport to Tignes and has the shortest transfer time. Geneva (GVA), Lyon (LYS) and Grenoble (GNB) Airports are a little further away but they have a far greater choice of airlines and destinations. The transfer time depends on the travel conditions at the time. We know when the journey may take longer and we allow extra time when we think the roads may be busy. The transfer times shown below are for Tignes Les Brevieres, the first resort you arrive at.

 

 

Geneva Airport to Tignes is 169km.

Bourg St Maurice Coach Station is 25 km from Tignes. The transfer time is about 30 mins. If you are looking for transfers up the mountain, we’d recommend the local public buses or a private taxi.

The first resort you arrive at from the airport is the pretty village of Tignes Les Brevieres. Next is Tignes 1800, then the more popular Le Lac (for Le Lavachet) before arriving at Tignes Val Claret. All our services from all airports can drop you and pick you up from all of these resorts. A GUIDE TO THE TIGNES SKI RESORT

 

Tignes and Val d’Isere make up the amazing ski area formerly known as “Espace Killy”. It offers some of the best skiing in the world. There are 300km of marked runs, serviced by 88 ski lifts. Although it has a wide range of pistes catering for all types (27 black runs, 40 reds, 66 blues and 23 greens) it is really a resort for intermediate and advanced skiers. Its position between the French and Italian Alps gives it a consistent and reliable snowfall. This, as well as the access to 2 glaciers, including the famous Grand Motte Glacier, ensures your holiday is snow guaranteed.

 

The ski resort of Tignes was conceived in the 1950’s, when the French government-built a dam flooded the original village. The resulting purpose built resort, located further up the mountain, suffered from the architectural style of the time. However, what the resort lacks in architectural aesthetics, it makes up for in skiing and facilities. It has plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants and a modern sports and leisure complex. It is an affordable alternative to its glamorous neighbour, Val d’Isere.

TRANSFER TIMES TO ST MARTIN DE BELLEVILLE

 

Chambery Airport is the closest airport to St Martin with the shortest transfer time, but it has a limited selection of flights. For a greater choice, consider flying into Geneva Airport (GVA), Lyon Airport (LYS) or Grenoble Airport (GNB). St Martin is at the start of the Belleville valley road, the D117, which ends in Val Thorens. The journey time obviously depends on the traffic and weather and the below times are for when the conditions are good. We allow extra time when we think traffic will be heavy.

 

 

Geneva Airport to St Martin is 138 km and the transfer time is about 2 hours 40 min. A Return costs from £80.50pp.

ST MARTIN DE BELEVILLE SKI RESORT

 

St Martin de Belleville is a charming, traditional resort in the lower reaches of Les 3 Vallees. It has retained a lot of its authentic savoyarde character, with its alpine chalets, converted stables and baroque church. Although it’s quite low at 1450m, it’s connected to the higher pistes by a fast 8 seater gondola. It’s a perfect resort for families looking for a quiet, mountain ski holiday. As part of the 3 Valleys ski area, you can access over 600km of marked runs, serviced by 200 ski lifts. As well as 49 black runs, 175 reds, 207 blues and 66 greens, if you are in possession of a 3 valley ski pass, you can ski the 2 glaciers, meaning your ski holiday is snow-sure.

The transfer time from Grenoble Airport to Alpe d’Huez is about 2 hours, depending on the date, time of day, weather and traffic conditions. We allow more time when we know traffic may be bad. The distance from Grenoble Airport to Alpe d’Huez is 105 km. We have up to 8 buses a day so you’ll never have to wait long. Our vehicles usually take the A48 motorway to Grenoble, then the N85 to Vizille, then the D1091 to Bourg d’Oisans, before climbing the famous 21 hairpins of the D211F to Alpe d’Huez. Our local drivers may take alternative routes when the traffic is bad.

The transfer time from Geneva Airport to St Martin de Belleville is about 2 hours 45 minutes, depending on the date, time of day, the weather and traffic. We allow more time for the journey when we know travel conditions may be bad. The distance is 137km (85 miles). We have up to 10 well timed buses every Saturday. Our vehicles usually take the most direct route which is via the A41 motorway, the D1508 through Annecy, Ugine and Albertville, then the N90 national road before climbing the D117 mountain road to St Martin.
