Transfers to Val d’Isere are available from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble airports. Our GENEVA to Val d’Isere route is the most popular, as the transfer time is one of the shortest. VAL D’ISERE AIRPORT SHUTTLES
Geneva to Val d’Isere transfers run every weekend. Our Grenoble routes also run on Saturdays and Sundays but our Lyon routes only operate on Saturdays. Depending on the airport you use, we operate between the 30th November 2024 and the 26th April 2025. We usually transport passengers in large coaches. Shared transfers are cheaper than private transfers or hire cars, offer more space for a more comfortable journey, and are more environmentally friendly.

Chambery is the closest airport to Val d’Isere with the shortest transfer time. However, it has a very limited choice of flights. There are more airlines and destinations available from Geneva (GVA), Lyon (LYS) and Grenoble (GNB) airports. The transfer time obviously depends on the traffic and weather conditions. We know when to allow extra time for the journey, such as during the French school holidays. Val d’Isere is at the end of the Tarentaise valley road, the D902.

BUS STOPS
All our Val d’Isere airport transfers from Grenoble, Geneva and Lyon Airports can stop at either of our two bus stops. They are the main bus station, the “Val d’Isere Gare Routiere” or La Daille, which is a few kilometres before the entrance to the main resort. VAL D’ISERE SKI RESORT
Val d’Isere is a world famous destination – and rightly so. It has everything you could wish for in a ski resort. Fantastic facilities, beautiful architecture, a modern lift system, and of course, great skiing. It has a wide range of accommodations, hotels, bars, restaurants, cafes and spas and the sports & leisure complex is one of the best in the Alps.
It sits at an altitude of 1800m on the border of the Vanoise National Park and Italy. As part of the Espace Killy ski area, you will get some of the best skiing in the world. The area covers over 300km of marked runs, serviced by 88 ski lifts. There are 27 black runs, 40 reds, 66 blues, 23 greens and due to the 2 glaciers, your holiday will be snow-sure. The only downside of Val d’Isere – the prices!

TRANSFER TIME FROM LYON AIRPORT TO VAL THORENS
The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Val Thorens is between 3 hours 20 minutes – 4 hours. This is dependent on the date, time of day, the weather and traffic. We allow more time for the journey when we know the road conditions may be bad. The distance from Lyon Airport to Val Thorens is 199 km. Serre Chevalier Airport Transfers
Transfers to Serre Chevalier are available from Grenoble Airport with Ben’s Bus. We can also take most of the way there on our Saturday morning service from Lyon Airport. Our airport shuttle from Grenoble Airport to Serre Chevalier operates on most Saturdays during the winter ski season. On all other days we can take you to Bourg d’Oisans. We offer the best value shared transfers on this route. Our reps will greet you at the Airport and our services stop at all the main resorts of Serre Chevalier.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS TO SERRE CHEVALIER
Our shared transfers from Grenoble Airport to Serre Chevalier operate from 21st December 2024 – 12th April 2025. We usually have 3-4 shuttles every Saturday (and even more to the towns on the way). Our Sunday and weekdays buses can drop you at either Bourg d’Oisans or the Lac du Chambon. From here you can use taxis or public buses for the last leg of the journey. Grenoble Airport is one of the closest airport to Serre Chevalier so it has one of the shortest transfer times. Of course it depends on the traffic, the weather and which resort you are heading to, but the transfer usually takes about 3 – 4 hours. We allow extra time for the journey when we know travelling conditions may be difficult, such as during the French school holidays. Ben’s Bus does not operate Serre Chevalier transfers from Turin Airport or Geneva Airport.
Grenoble Airport (GNB) is 153 km from Serre Chevalier. The transfer time is about 3.5 hours. A Return costs from £85pp.

SERRE CHEVALIER SKI RESORT
Serre Chevalier is not just one resort but more a collection of towns spread along the valley floor. It is situated in the Southern French Alps, in the ‘departement’ of Hautes-Alpes. Each town is about 8km apart from each other, connected by a busy road that has free public buses running back and forth quite frequently. It’s is important to research each town before you book your holiday, as each as its own pros and cons. For instance, Monetiers les Bains has a quiet, authentic village feel to it whilst Villeneuve (literally translated to new town) has a more modern feel. The highest town in France, Briancon, is a decent size with a year round population and a stunning, UNESCO protected old fort.
The ski area is quite varied. With north facing slopes, a good snow record and the highest elevation at 2, 800m, it’s fairly snow-sure. The 61 ski lifts covers 410 hectares of marked ski runs. It has 13 blacks, 30 reds, 25 blues, 13 greens, set in beautiful wooded mountains.

Skiing in Val Thorens this winter? Thinking of flying? Then you need to consider how to get from your chosen airport to Val Thorens. Get it right and you could save a lot of time and money. You have a choice of 4 airports, Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon and Chambery and each one has its pros and cons. We’ve listed the transfer times and prices from each airport below.

Private transfers are pricier, but can be timed perfectly for your flights. VAL THORENS AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Our transfers from Geneva to Val Thorens operate on Saturdays and Sundays. Grenoble Airport services run on weekends but our Lyon Airport services only run on Saturdays. Transfers are available between the 30th November 2024 until the 26th April 2025, depending on which airport you use. There are many shuttle buses each day and we usually transport passengers in coaches, offering cheaper fares and more space than private transfers. Prices start from just over £81 Return.

BUS STOPS
All our airport transfers to Val Thorens from Grenoble, Geneva and Lyon Airports stop at the main Bus Station, the “Gare Routiere”. We also have a stop at the UCPA centre but you should probably only use this stop if you are actually staying there. This is because the UCPA stop is quite isolated and there is not much else around there.
The free in-resort shuttle buses dart around the resort making multiple stops in convenient locations, so you can get from the bus station to your accommodation. VAL THORENS SKI RESORT
Val Thorens sits at an altitude of 2300m, claiming the title of The Highest Ski Resort in Europe. Known for its party atmosphere, it’s a popular destination for young groups, as it has a great selection of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. The only resorts rivaling it for all-round appeal are Tignes and Val d’Isere.
The village was constructed in the 1960’s as a purpose built ski resort. Despite this, some new and renovated developments have given it a more attractive alpine feel. It is part of the 3 Valleys ski area which offers over 600km of runs, serviced by 200 ski lifts. It has 49 blacks, 175 reds, 207 blues and 66 greens. If you have a 3 valleys ski pass, you can access 2 glaciers, ensuring your holiday is snow-sure.

Grenoble City Centre Shuttle Bus
This service is operated by our friends at Actibus. They sell tickets for this service online via the Actibus website. Although can also buy tickets once you arrive at the airport, we strongly recommend buying them in advance. On Saturdays, representatives from Actibus will be in the departures lounge selling tickets. On Sundays and weekdays, you can buy tickets from the driver. All the buses depart and arrive from outside the Departures lounge. Tickets on the day cost 15.50€ pp Single and 27€ Return. Children under 12 get a 10% discount.
The service will take you directly to the main bus and train station in Grenoble, the “Gare Routiere“. From here you can take onward transport to many towns, cities and ski resorts in France and Europe. The transfer time is about 45 minutes and the distance is 45 km. Whether you are travelling for a ski holiday, to visit friends, on business or just to visit Grenoble itself, this bus service will provide you with an efficient, timely, cost effective and environmentally-friendly way to get to the city centre in a safe and comfortable fashion.
The shuttle service operate every day that there is a scheduled flight into or out of Grenoble Airport, between the 3rd December 2022 and the 22nd April 2023. The bus timetable has been designed to minimise the time you spend at the airport. The maximum wait time is 1 hour 30 minutes, although depending on your flight arrival time, it is often much less.
