Chamrousse Airport Ski Transfers

Unfortunately we no longer run transfers to Chamrousse. However, we’ve listed some options for you to consider.

FROM GRENOBLE AIRPORT TO CHAMROUSSE

You could take the shuttle bus service from Grenoble Airport to Grenoble city centre and then a public bus with Transaltitude. Alternatively, you could hire a car or book a direct private taxi. We recommend a local company called Actibus. The journey is quite quick at about 1 hour 15 minutes in good conditions.

FROM LYON AIRPORT TO CHAMROUSSE

There is a regular bus from Lyon Airport to Grenoble Bus Station, from where you can take the Transaltitude public buses. A private taxi is more expensive but it is direct and a lot less hassle. A local company we recommend is Actibus. Lyon Airport is further away then Grenoble Airport so incurs more toll and petrol costs. You should allow about 2 hours in good conditions, but much more if you are travelling during the French school holidays.

CHAMROUSSE SKI RESORT

Chamrousse is a little known gem of a resort overlooking Grenoble. It is traditionally very popular with French people but has recently become popular with other Europeans, partly due to its exceptional value for money. Ski Passes cost only 160€ for the week for an adult! It’s a perfect destination for families of beginners. Tour Operators generally place their customers in the Domaine de l’Arselle, which is the purpose built part of the town and has all the facilities you need, including shops, ski rental premises, bars and a couple of restaurants.

Alpe d’Huez Airport Transfers

Transfers to Alpe d’Huez are available from Grenoble and Lyon Airports with Ben’s Bus. Read on for advice on Alpe d’Huez transfers from Geneva and Chambery Airports. Our shared shuttles from GRENOBLE Airport to Alpe d’Huez connect with all scheduled flights during the 2024 / 25 winter ski season. LYON Airport to Alpe d’Huez transfers operate on most Saturdays. We have the most frequent service and the cheapest prices and we transport more passengers on this route than any other company.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS TO ALPE D’HUEZ

From Grenoble Airport, our shared transfers run from the 1st December 2024 – 12th April 2025. We have up to 8 buses on a Saturday, so the average wait time is just 1 hour. We generally use large coaches, which reduces your carbon footprint. A Saturday transfer from Grenoble Airport to Alpe d’Huez will cost £34pp Single, £59.50pp Return. With our group discounts, you could pay just under £30. Children under 12 get a 10% discount. From Lyon Airport we operate a less frequent service. TRANSFER TIMES TO ALPE D’HUEZ

Grenoble Airport is the closest airport to Alpe d’Huez, followed by Chambery and then Lyon. The transfer time depends on the traffic and weather but the journey usually takes about 2 hours from Grenoble Airport. We allow extra time when we know travelling conditions may be difficult, such as during school holidays. If you’re flying into Chambery or Geneva, you may wish to consider changing your flights to and from Grenoble or Lyon. It may actually be cheaper this way so that you can take our service.

Grenoble Airport to Alpe d’Huez is 105 km and the transfer time is about 2 hours. A Return costs from £52pp.

Lyon Airport to Alpe d’Huez is 152 km and the transfer time is about 2 hours 30 minutes. A Return costs from £65.60pp.

Get directions from Lyon Airport to Alpe d’Huez.

Geneva Airport to Alpe d’Huez is 214 km. The transfer time is about 3 – 4 hours. You could take a bus to Grenoble and then a Transaltitude local bus or look to see if Altibus has a direct service. Get directions from Geneva Airport to Alpe d’Huez.

Chambery Airport to Alpe d’Huez is 130 km. The transfer time is about 2 hours. A Private transfer costs about £320 for up to 4 people. Public Transport would be time consuming and complicated. Get directions from Chambery Airport to Alpe d’Huez.

Grenoble Bus Station to Alpe d’Huez is 67 km. The transfer time is about 1 hour 30 minutes. The local buses are operated by Transisere or see who we recommend for private taxis from Grenoble.

BUS STOPS

We have 4 bus stops in Alpe d’Huez, conveniently spread across the resort. You could also consult the Tourist Office Maps of the Resort which show more information and accommodation centre. Consult this pay to see information about the free in-resort shuttle buses. A map and a description of the bus stops will be shown on your eTicket that we send you.

You can select your stop when you make your booking. If you have already booked, you can log into your account and select your stop. Please note that we are unable to offer any advice on which stop is best for you, as you will need to decide this yourself.

We may need to cancel the stops Place Jean Moulin and Gare Routiere when the weather is bad or when the roads are going to be very busy. This is to ensure we don’t get stuck in resort behind other vehicles. We will contact you the day before if we need to do this, asking you to get on our bus at Palais des Sports.

Gare Routiere: In the old part of town, just below the bakery and opposite the Bar Le QG. The road is very wide here with space for a bus to park up. See it in google maps.

Palais des Sports: At the bus stop outside the main Sports Hall. Three out of the four free resort shuttles pass by here. See it in google maps

Place Jean Moulin: At the bus stop on the roundabout in front of the Sphere Bar. Sometimes we may have to use the bus stop opposite the Residence “Cristal de l’Alpe”. View it in google maps

For Accommodations: Hotel Christiana, Grand Rousse, L’Hermitage, Cristal de l’Alpe. Walk down the Route du Signal for Hotel Le Castillan, Les Cimes and Petit Prince

Bergers: Please wait directly outside the large Residence “Pierre & Vacances Les Bergers”. See it in google maps

For Accommodations: Pic Blanc, P&V Les Bergers, MMV Les Bergers, Maeva Les Melezes, Franceloc L’Ecrin d’Huez, Residence Christiana (not Hotel Christiana!), and use “Citron” free shuttle bus for the Altiport Chalets & Club Med. The road up to the Altiport is uphill and can be steep in places.

ALPE D’HUEZ SKI RESORT

Alpe d’Huez is a well rounded resort situated in the Southern French Alps area of Oisans, in the departement of Isere. It has a wide range of different levels of hotels and accommodations and has many bars, clubs and restaurants. It is therefore well suited to families, couples and young people alike. During the school holidays, it can get very busy, as with most ski resorts. It has all the amenities you would expect from a large French ski resort and it’s very popular with the British. The 48 ski lifts cover 250km of marked ski runs, with 16 blacks, 40 reds, 34 blues, 43 greens, and the longest black run in the world – the 16km Sarenne. The ski area is suitable for all types of skiers, from beginners to advanced to the off piste powder monkeys!

Lyon Airport to Les Deux Alpes

LYON AIRPORT TO LES DEUX ALPES TRANSFERS

TRANSFER TIME FROM LYON AIRPORT TO LES DEUX ALPES

The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Les Deux Alpes is about 2 hours 35 minutes, covering a distance of 156km. This obviously depends on the weather and traffic conditions. We allow more time for the journey when we know the traffic may be bad, such as during the school holidays. Our vehicles usually take the A43 motorway, then the A48 to Grenoble, then the N85 to Vizille, then the D1091 and D213 to Les 2 Alpes.

BUS STOPS

A Ben’s Bus manager will greet you at Lyon Airport. We also have reps in the resort to ensure you find our bus and we’ll try to call you if you are not there on time. We have 3 bus stops in Les Deux Alpes, strategically placed close to the main accommodation centres. Les Menuires Airport Transfers

Les Menuires Transfers are available from 3 different airports with Ben’s Bus. Our network of shared transfers includes shuttles from GENEVA Airport to Les Menuires, GRENOBLE Airport to Les Menuires and LYON Airport to Les Menuires. LES MENUIRES AIRPORT TRANSFERS

We run Les Menuires airport transfers on week-ends during the 2024 / 25 ski season. Our shared transfers operate from 30th November 2024 – 26th April 2025, depending on which airport you use. We operate many shuttle buses each day and we generally transport passengers in large coaches, which means cheaper fares and less environmental impact. With our fantastic discounts for groups and children, our prices start from just over £80 Return.

TRANSFER TIMES TO LES MENUIRES

Chambery Airport is the closest airport to Les Menuires with the shortest transfer time, but it has a limited selection of flights. For a greater choice, consider flying into Geneva (GVA), Lyon (LYS) or Grenoble (GNB) Airport. Les Menuires is half way up the Belleville valley road, the D117, which ends up in Val Thorens. The transfer times below are based on good conditions. We allow extra time for the journey when we know travelling conditions may be difficult, such as during the French school holidays.

Geneva Airport to Les Menuires is 146 km and the transfer time is about 3 hours. A Return costs from £80.50pp.

Chambery Airport to Les Menuires is 112km and the transfer time is about 2 hours – 2 hours 30 mins.

Moutiers Coach Station is 28 km from Les Menuires. The transfer time is about 50 minutes. If you are arriving by eurostar and looking for transfers from Moutiers train station, we’d recommend the local Les Menuires public buses or a private taxi.

BUS STOP

All our transfers from all our airports will drop you off at and pick you up at the main bus station in Les Menuires, the “Gare Routiere”. From here you can use the free Les Menuires In Resort Shuttle Buses which dart around the resort frequently and can get you to your accommodation. You can see our bus stop on google maps or on the Les Menuires Tourist Office Interactive map of the resort.

Please note that Les Menuires is a large, sprawling resort in the mountains. It could be a long walk from our only bus stop to your accommodation. You should research this and understand this before booking with us. The shuttle buses do not operate 24hrs a day and local taxis may not agree to do a short in-resort journey.

LES MENUIRES SKI RESORT

Les Menuires sits at an altitude of 1850m in the Belleville valley, roughly half way between St Martin and Val Thorens. It was developed in the 1960’s and offers affordable access to the famous Les 3 Vallees. It has good child facilities and a wide range of accommodations, so it is quite popular with families. As part of that 3 Valleys ski area, you can access over 600km of marked runs, serviced by 200 ski lifts. As well as 49 black runs, 175 reds, 207 blues and 66 greens, your 3 valley ski pass will give you access to 2 glaciers, so you are always assured of a snow-sure ski holiday. The resort is spread out over quite a large, hilly area. So although there are free ‘navettes’ that circulate the resort, you should check exactly where your accommodation is.

TRANSFER TIME FROM GENEVA AIRPORT TO VAL D’ISERE

The transfer time from Geneva Airport to Val d’Isere is about 3 hours 35 minutes. The distance from Geneva Airport is 180km (112 miles), making it one of the most accessible airports. The transfer time depends on the date, time of day, weather and traffic, but we allow more time for the journey when we know travelling conditions may be bad, such as during the French February school holidays. Ben’s Bus has up to 8 well timed buses every Saturday.

BUS STOPS

All our buses can stop at the main bus station in Val d’Isere, the ‘Gare Routiere’ and La Daille. La Daille is the purpose built part of the resort, about 5 minutes from the main town.
